"Visualizing space, as it will be used by the client-- space to create an environment that is "them" - that's the way it is done. They acquire. I take what they have collected and help them live better: using old things in new ways, teaching them a gracious art of living and teaching them an appreciation for what they have. While doing this I watch a client grow and I gain from the process as well." So speaks the objectives of Interior designer, Toby Reid Morrison

A native North Carolinian, Toby is based in Sanford, centrally located in the state between Pinehurst and Raleigh. As a proprietor of The Design Studio, Toby works with clients on both residential and commercial projects. Toby enjoys the challenge and variety of a broad range of opportunities from new construction to remodeling.

A self-taught designer, Toby takes years of observation and uses them to build and enhance surroundings. He feels that " Everyone wants to live well-it's just determining what 'living well " is to you." Rooms have feelings. They demand certain things. Just as people grow and mature, developing character, so do rooms. "

Establishing relationships with people, getting to know "them", allows Toby to create rooms that reflect the character of individuals who live in and use this space. " Some Designers want to be in and out of a project. I like to continue on throughout the phases of a client's life. I don't feel I do a complete job without "knowing" the client. We may start off as strangers, but we end up as friends. And all of it should be fun. Design should be fun!"
